Energy Systems Group (ESG), headquartered in Evansville Indiana, is a full service energy services contractor pre-qualified by the Departments of Energy and Defense (DOE/DOD). ESG has also been accredited by the National Association of Energy Service Contractors (NAESCO) and is a member of the EPA s Energy Star Building Partnership. Federal awards have included the Vice President s HAMMER AWARD for setting new standards of excellence for Federal Clients and the Veterans Affairs Scissors Award for cutting red tape in project development for VA clients.

 

Established in 1994, ESG has been awarded over 100 energy related contracts in many states and has developed over $300 million in various types of energy projects and services.

 

ESG offers Strategic Energy Master Planning nationwide, by means of specific GSA Schedules and Utility Area-Wide arrangements available to all Federal facilities.

1.0             Technical Factor One: Understanding the Requirements

 

Energy Systems Group, LLC (ESG) understands the General Services Administration (GSA), its customers, and their specific energy needs. Our approach, processes and resources ensure that the GSA (and its customers) receives prompt, quality service.

 

ESG will provide energy services under the following SINs:

 

                    SIN 871-200: Energy Management Program Support

                    SIN 871-201: Energy Audit Services Strategic energy planning

 

The services that we are providing are designed to provide the GSA and its customers with comprehensive energy program management support.

 

SIN 871-200: Energy Program Management Support

 

Under this SIN, ESG will provide expert advice, assistance, guidance and consulting in support of agencies energy program management efforts. This may also include studies, analyses and reports that document the current situation and proposing solutions to specific needs. Theses services include, but are not limited to:

 

Energy Planning and Strategies - Our services include providing high-level consulting support that assists clients in developing and crafting successful strategies designed to maximize facility efficiency while reducing overall energy consumption.

 

Energy Choice Analysis - ESG provides equipment, software, training and consulting support to enable our clients to evaluate various energy choices. We provide our clients with the necessary information to make informed decisions as it relates to their specific situation. This information typically includes trade-off analysis of various solutions (i.e. cost, financing options, and payback).

 

Risk Management - ESG provides equipment, software, training, and consulting support on risk management to minimize various levels of price uncertainty for actual energy purchases.

 

Metering Services - ESG provides a full range of metering solutions that allows our customers to understand load profiles; manage demand; allocate costs; reduce consumption; negotiate with suppliers; and monitor improvements from implemented energy conservation measures.

 

Billing and Management Oversight - ESG can provide billing services that include verifying and correcting past utility bills, correcting over-billing, analyzing consumption and costs, forecasting energy usage, and reducing administrative costs through the payment of a single bill.

 

SIN 871-201: Energy Audit Services

 

Under this SIN, ESG will provide expert advice, assistance, guidance and consulting in support of agencies energy audit efforts. This may also include studies, analyses and reports that document the current situation and proposing solutions to specific needs. Theses services include, but are not limited to:

 

Energy Audits - ESG performs complete energy audits on a wide variety of facilities - including multi-building and multi-state sites. We analyze the building envelope, energy consuming systems, utility rates and historic usage to identify improvement opportunities and estimate the savings potential for each project. In addition, ESG also provides on-going measurement and verification of all facilities to ensure that implemented energy conservation projects (specifically the goals and objectives) are met.

 

Project Management Services - ESG has provided project management services for over $150 million in energy-related projects throughout its 5-year history. ESG assumes full, turnkey responsibility for all equipment installation and energy conservation measures, using our own technical personnel and qualified subcontractors who assist in delivery.

 

Design and Engineering - All ESG solutions are site-specific and developed jointly with the client. Our technical staff has extensive experience in providing design and engineering services for a variety of needs - with a specific expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, central plant applications, industrial processes, and building automation.

 

Resource Efficiency Management - ESG provides its customers with information and advice on possible steps that will improve energy efficiency at a particular location. This information typically comes in the form of a formal analysis includes a thorough analysis of existing operations, equipment and energy purchasing patterns.

 

Use of Alternative Energy Sources - Where applicable, ESG provides its customers with information and advice on possible options for the use of alternative energy sources, including converting to use of different energy sources, alternative off-site storage and management, or alternative and standby fuel pricing.

 

Building Commissioning Services - ESG provides comprehensive building commissioning services on new construction, major modernization, and existing energy consuming operations (re-commissioning).

 

Training - ESG provides client personnel with comprehensive instruction in the operation and maintenance of equipment, and overall processes to ensure maximum efficiency and minimization of energy consumption.

 

Operations and Maintenance - ESG provides its clients with a total turnkey solution when it comes to operating and maintaining its facilities. We assume responsibility for all equipment and facility operations that specifically address energy efficiency and consumption.
