What Do AGU''s Programs Offer? AGU's programs offer an integrated, real world approach to providing the education and training in areas needed for success in managing programs and projects. They are based on over 30 years experience in providing education to hundreds of industry and government organizations and thousands of attendees worldwide in project and program management techniques. AGU's Programs offer individuals and organizations several options. Professional Development Courses- AGU's 16 to 40 hour concentrated courses are rigorous, completely structured, extensively researched and documented stand-alone educational programs. The courses are led by dynamic professional faculty with extensive practical and theoretical backgrounds. Courses are interactive and presented by a combination of structured presentations, discussions, hands-on exercises, and case analysis. Each course delivers an immediately usable body of knowledge. These courses are offered on an in-house basis and in open registration formats at various locations. Please contact AGU or see our website at www.agu.edu Professional Certificate In Project/Program Management - AGU courses may be used to pursue AGU's professional certificate program in project/program management. To earn the Certificate, an individual must complete six courses and required examinations. Please contact AGU or see our website at www.agu.edu Master Of Project Management (M.P.M.) Degree Program - AGU courses may be used in pursuit of the M.P.M. degree. The degree program is organized into a block of general management and program/project management courses. The management courses are designed to provide the student with an overall framework of business knowledge. They stress the basic principles, concepts, and practices associated with the overall management of any organization. The project management courses provide the student with both the theory and a working knowledge of the project management field to include the areas of leadership, business and financial management, human relations, technical management, communications and negotiation and international operations. The student must successfully complete courses totaling a minimum of 42 units in the program and then pass a comprehensive examination or complete an approved project. All have managed projects and participated in complex programs. They are carefully chosen for both their experience and teaching capability. They bring both depth and dynamics to their courses. Over the last 30 years, AGU's faculty have led open enrollment courses with tens of thousands of attendees from hundreds of industry and government organizations worldwide. They have also consulted and presented in-house courses in program and project management techniques to over 130 organizations with many repeat sessions. Extensive Course Materials Furnished All course attendees receive one or more textbooks covering the subject matter of the course. The textbooks are guaranteed to be the most complete coverage of their topical area available from any government or private source. In addition, each person receives a course notebook containing presentation notes, graphics, cases, exercises, and additional readings. The course materials alone are worth the fee charged for each course. Accreditation And Approvals American Graduate University is a registered global educational provider of the Project Management Institute (PMI). The University's education programs are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The Accrediting Commission of DETC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency and is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Project Management Certifications Completion of individual courses, the M.P.M. degree program, or the Professional Certificate program will be of major help in preparing for certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI®), an organization of over 70,000 professionals. The PMP certification examination covers the nine areas of the project management body of knowledge (PMBOK ). All nine areas are covered in AGU's project/program management curriculum. A Cost Effective Quality Approach -- On-Site Courses The courses listed in this catalog are available for in-house presentation to Federal Government agencies. We have presented in-house courses in program and project management to over 130 organizations. Some organizations have sponsored more than 30 sessions of a particular program. The course can be presented "as is" or tailored to an organization's requirements. An on-site presentation can provide a cost effective solution while ensuring quality training. Courses Tailored To Your Needs In-house courses can be tailored
to the organization's needs. While each course contains the same foundation
concepts as the public courses, additional coverage can be added to particular
topics or topics can be deemphasized. In addition, organization-unique
processes and materials can be integrated into existing course coverage.
As an option, the sponsoring organization's personnel can present unique
topics. Reasonable tailoring can be accomplished at no additional charge.
Extensive modification to a particular course may be done on a time and
materials basis.

Please include your phone and fax numbers and your e-mail address. Prices The prices published in the Federal Supply Schedule are for U.S. Government customers only. Please note that the prices do not include meals or hotel accommodations for course attendees nor do they cover per diem and travel costs for AGU instructors. Instructor per diem, course materials shipping, and travel costs will be billed at cost. Facilities Courses are normally held at facilities provided by the sponsoring agency. If AGU arranges for the training facility, that additional cost will be added to the fee. Class Hours Classes are in session from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with one hour for lunch. Four and five day courses normally end at 2:00 p.m. |
