Senior Instructional Specialist I (Consultant/(Facilitator)

Guild’s facilitation and consultation services consist of a pragmatic approach to developing communication management expertise in the most senior ranks of civil and military personnel. To facilitate this process, the Senior Instructional Specialist I provides leadership, advice, and guidance for top officials on strategic communications planning and management that is of a general nature, but can be customized to meet the needs of individual agencies, bureaus, and divisions. Further, Guild’s Senior Instructional Specialist I generates surveys and studies in the fields of crisis/risk management, consultation, facilitation, and communication through seminal research activities and facilitates client learning through team-building activities to promote professional collaboration on inter- and intra-agency activities that are mission-related. As an integral part of the consultation, facilitation, and training activities conducted by Guild, the Senior Instructional Specialist I evaluates the effectiveness of learning via new media, and develops methods of using training media in designing courses and special course materials in areas where new designs for presenting communication and management materials are needed.

This position requires an advanced degree in the fields of communication, business management, or government, as well as eight or more years of project management experience. As the primary contact with the government’s Project Managers, this position is responsible for the management and coordination of the resources required to perform the tasks on time and on budget. This position requires an advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and/or equivalent experience. Provides expertise in facilitation of workshops, and executive sessions. Has experience in training development, teaching methods and techniques, and classroom instruction. Provides workshops and training in basic communication, risk communication, conflict resolution, public meeting participation, media, diversity and writing techniques. Ability to provide needs assessments, evaluations, and solutions for clients.

 

Senior Instructional Specialist II (Facilitator)

The Senior Instructional Specialist II position works closely with the Senior Instructional Specialist I to provide facilitation, training and consultation services to clients in the areas of communication management. By partnering with the Senior Instructional Specialist I, the team of instructors (Senior Instructional Specialist I, Senior Instructional Specialist II, and the Instructional Specialist) relay consistent messages to trainees on developing dynamic strategic plans and communication methods for the most senior ranks of civil and military personnel. To a less significant degree than the Senior Instructional Specialist I, the Senior Instructional II facilitates the process of providing leadership, advice, and guidance for top officials on strategic communications planning and management that is of a general nature, but can be customized to meet the needs of individual agencies, bureaus, and divisions. Moreover, the Senior Instructional Specialist II provides a creative learning environment for participants, ensuring that information is clearly understood and received. In this regard, the Senior Instructional Specialist II works very closely with the Senior Visual Information Specialist to ensure that all publications and presentational materials are accurate, visually compelling, and effective. All efforts are designed to increase public trust and confidence.

This position requires an advanced degree as well as eight or more years of project management experience. As the primary contact with the government s Project Managers, this position is responsible for the management and coordination of the resources required to perform the tasks on time and on budget. The incumbent will provide expert facilitation and presentation delivery of materials that may be of a complex and technical nature in such a manner that an audience without a technical background can understand competently material presented.

 

Instructional Specialist (Facilitator)

Guild’s Instructional Specialist establishes instructional design, development, and analysis of consultation, facilitation, and training materials related to communication management. As many of the training assignments undertaken by Guild are characterized by complicating factors, such as changing situations or new developments or theories in the fields of management and communications, the Instructional Specialist must respond effectively to matters that are controversial, unconventional, or novel that inform the training materials, curriculum, and technologies used to convey information. Working as part of the instructional team, the Instructional Specialist provides advice and guidance to senior and middle-management on the need to implement new management and communication strategies to carry out agency or division goals to increase public confidence.

This position requires at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably an advanced degree, with five or more years of professional experience in training, facilitation, and consulting. This position is responsible for direct contact with participants in training modules, so a high level of customer relations experience is also desirable. The incumbent must be highly experienced in making public presentations, presenting factual and technical data to audiences of diverse education and training backgrounds.

 

Senior Public Affairs Specialist (Facilitator)

Guild’s Senior Public Affairs Specialist plans, directs and executes training and consultation to key agency managers in the field on key areas of communication and management, as well as writes and delivers materials to convey information concerning complex programs and functions to publics with varying levels of expertise and education. In working with agency officials, the Senior Public Affairs Specialist makes decisions determining the most effective approaches to employ in reaching senior level or highly trained personnel, modifying approaches and strategies to more effectively communicate programs and functions to the public, diminishing external criticism of agency mission or personnel. This position requires an advanced degree as well as eight or more years of Public Affairs experience specifically in the areas of internal and external communication systems, strategic planning and community relations. This position is responsible for the management and development of internal and external communication audits, strategic planning, communication systems, and community outreach. In facilitating training, the incumbent must be experienced on oral delivery, lecture, and presentation formats.

 

Public Affairs Specialist (Facilitator)

Guild has both a Senior Public Affairs Specialist and Public Affairs Specialist who offer similar public affairs services to client personnel. However, unlike the Senior Public Affairs Specialist, this position requires less personal interface with the most senior level agency personnel, but is involved in ensuring that client training materials and presentational handouts meet the needs of the client and are of optimal benefit. The Public Affairs Specialist works closely with the Senior Public Affairs Specialist to plan activities that relate to the development and design of strategic communication and management training programs, and delivers and facilitates workshops related to communication and strategic planning. A key facilitator, the Public Affairs Specialist is adept at assessing the various skill levels of participants and customizing presentations to meet the needs of clients from diverse occupational fields.

This position requires a bachelor s degree and three or more years of experience in public affairs. This position prepares press releases, participates in research and writing of communication and strategic plans and fact sheets, does community research and demographic studies. This position also works with the public, and must therefore possess a high degree of customer relations experience.

 

Management Specialist

Guild has a Management Specialist who coordinates, plans and develops experimental programs, evaluate results to use in planning, developing, and installing new or modified programs. Much of the consultation, training, and facilitation projects undertaken by Guild entails program innovations or modifications that are the result of agencies need for communication and management workshops for staff to carry out and improve job responsibilities as related to agency mission. As a senior member of the Guild communication and management team, the Management Specialist conducts research and investigation of new management practices for application to agency programs or operations, and has continuing responsibility for designing and developing strategic plans to meet agency goals and timetables. Working closely with the Senior Public Affairs Specialist, the Management Specialist conducts surveys to determine if actions taken were appropriate or need modification and improvement based on individual and group performance. The Management Specialist also plans and conducts studies that evaluate and predict program achievements and staff performance, and prepares recommendations on findings and results to key managers and administrators.

This position requires an advanced degree in business, government, or policy, and at least five years of professional experience in planning and development of business processes and management systems, including logistical and human capital resource planning as it relates to fiscal and personnel operations.

 

Senior Visual Information Specialist

Guild has a Senior Visual Information Specialist who is responsible for providing all materials for training modules, including brochures, manuals, and other materials that are printed to support government workshops and public participation activities. Working with the Senior Instructional Specialists, the Senior Visual Information Specialist designs, develops, and illustrates presentations to be used for training lectures of large and small client groups. Utilizing appropriate multimedia solutions, the Senior Visual Information Specialist adapts curricula provided by the Senior Instructional Specialist, Management Specialist, and Senior Public Affairs Specialist to promote knowledge and understanding of communication and management policies and procedures.

This position requires a bachelor s degree and/or equivalent experience in the design and development of multimedia tools to communicate technical information to lay audiences. Proficiency in managing and integrating various multimedia products into editorial print products, displays and exhibits. Proficiency in risk communication techniques and computer generated imaging.

 

Visual Information Specialist

Guild’s Visual Information Specialist works with the Senior Visual Information Specialist to provide state-of-the-art visual graphics and presentation materials for Guild’s management workshops and stakeholder participation programs. As many of the materials are integrated into the oral delivery of the Instructional Specialists for agency managers and senior officials it is critical for all materials to meet agency standards, and ultimately helping to increase public trust and confidence in government leaders and institutions.

This position requires an associate s degree and/or equivalent experience in computer generated art. This position integrates photography and graphics into various editorial print products, displays and exhibits. Familiarity with proven communication techniques as well as designing and developing sampling forms and surveys.

 

Audiovisual Production Specialist (Consultant)

Guild Communications is a creative full-service communications management and consulting company and has won several national awards, including two Telly Awards) for video production for its public and commercial clients. Recognized as a leader in the field of risk communications, Guild has produced a number of award winning videos, posters, and publications that showcase the efforts of federal agencies in environmental cleanup activities; health; national defense and public safety. One of the hallmarks of Guild workshops and consultation services is training is the videotaped products of clients communication training that are used for participant review and critique. Tapes are also provided to clients to study at home to improve performance and confidence in communicating with the media and the public on controversial or emotionally charged situations.

This position requires a bachelor s degree and/or equivalent experience in the development of technical video and film production to be used by clients for teaching, training, and public education purposes. The incumbent must be able to manipulate video and film equipment in various environments, including outdoor filming, as needed.
