InfoPro s Experience:

Bureau of Customs and Border Protection. InfoPro is the prime contractor for the Management Systems Branch for system and software development and maintenance support. InfoPro provides experienced staff to support all administrative, financial, and human resources systems that the Management Systems Branch is responsible for. For this SAP project, InfoPro provides staff for both the conversion/migration of the legacy systems to SAP and development support for any required interfaces, conversions, reports, and custom code development in the SAP R/3 software environment using the SAP ABAP programming language.

InfoPro completed the business re-engineering task, Quality Planning and Asset Management (QPAM), for the USCS Office of Finance that led to the agency solicitation and award of the acquisition of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. InfoPro was selected to provide the ABAP/development support.

U.S. Coast Guard Future Force. The Future Force effort, residing under the Human Resources Capability Development staff (G-W-2), serves as an incubator for initiatives to improve the management and application of the USCG s human resources. Current work of the Future Force and Capability Development staff covers the following areas: Joint Rating Review implementation; manpower requirements determination; workforce/HR system design and development; work and workload measurement; competency/skills-based management research and projects; Readiness Management System; Development of an HR profession within the USCG; Chief Warrant Officer specialty review; Officer Career Management System study; econometrics/demographics research; and HR metrics in support of the Balanced Score Card and the President s Management Agenda.

InfoPro is helping the USCG Guard re-engineer its workforce of more than 50,000 active duty and reserve military, civilian, volunteer (USCG Auxiliary), and contractor personnel to fulfill the nation s expectations for maritime homeland security and national defense, as well as in the traditional Coast Guard mission areas of maritime safety (i.e., search and rescue, recreational boating safety, and marine

inspection), maritime security (i.e., enforcement of customs and immigration laws and counter-drug interdiction), maritime mobility (i.e., aids-to-navigation and ice breaking), and protection of the natural resources (i.e., pollution prevention and response, enforcement of fisheries laws and treaties).

General Services Administration. InfoPro supported GSA s Federal Technology Service (FTS), Office of Regional Services in the operation and enhancement of the Telecommunications Ordering and Pricing System (TOPS), a powerful internetworking

solution to enable on-line ordering, inquiry, billing, and payment by government agency customers for telecommunications services. TOPS supports the entire life-cycle of a telecommunications order from recording customers original orders and tracking them, to paying vendors, billing customers, and generating accounting entries.

Our staff assisted FTS in the consolidation and centralization of TOPS from six databases to one database with a Web-enabled interface. We developed on-line access to the system to complement the original dial-in access through a PC and a modem, so that GSA as well as other users can order telephone service through GSA on-line. InfoPro s TOPS support included:

  • Design, development, and maintenance of the TOPS Web site, protected by a firewall
  • Development of Web site access through SkyTel pager communication
  • TOPS application maintenance, enhancements and operational support
  • Ongoing training and end-user support
  • Serving as the first point of contact for TOPS operational problems
  • Design, implementation, and optimization of the TOPS Oracle database
  • Developing and/or modifying nationwide reports of the TOPS database
  • Support for client ad-hoc reports, and preparation and distribution of reports
  • Development of a Web front end for the TOPS electronic ordering, customer account inquiry modules, references, field ordering, and financial modules.

U.S. Department of the Treasury. InfoPro has worked with Treasury staff to identify issues contributing to the generation of unreliable financial data within the Department by examining current practices for processing and reporting financial information within the Department s bureaus. InfoPro conducted interviews with key Treasury and bureau personnel, leading to 12 recommendations by InfoPro to the Treasury-wide CFO council. All 12 recommendations were unanimously approved.

InfoPro also has identified the standardization of financial data as a priority throughout all Treasury bureaus. This standardization will allow Treasury to produce reliable consolidated financial statements, to access financial management reports that will enhance oversight capability, and to mark the first step in a concerted effort to streamline the audit process.
